The Macrobiotic Diet

The Macrobiotic Diet has been picking up a lot of buzz on the Internet recently. So what is it?

The popular diet was created by a Japanese health expert named George Oshawa who believes simplicity is key to a person's food intake.

He recommends a diet based on whole grains, such as wheat and barely, soup and a whole lot of vegetables. The diet consists of natural and organic foods--and again--simplicity.

Does it work? Thousands attest to it. And judging by its recent Internet chatter, the Macrobiotic diet is becoming one of the most popular diets in the U.S.

Take a look at the Macrobiotic Diet's guidelines here.

Facial-Analysis Diet

A Facial-Analysis Diet is a method by which a person's face and based on features, determines which of the popular diets will be most effective for the dieter.

The test, which a facial analyst performs, studies a person's skin, eyes and hair to make the diet determination.

"The diet looks at skin tone, pores, dark circles, even hair, feet, hands and tongue to see what minerals are missing and foods you could be allergic to."

The Beer Diet

A new book, "Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER, Nutritional Values of 2,000 Worldwide Beers," chronicles the nutritional components of beer.

While government bureaucracy decides whether or not to mandate nutritional label information on adult beverages, drink manufacturers are stuck; why destroy their current inventory of container labels, voluntarily list the calories, carbohydrates, protein, sodium and alcohol by volume, and then have to once again destory their label inventory because their good intent doesn't meet with Alcohol Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) requirements?

Can drinking certain types of beer help you lose weight? Although it would certainly be a Popular Diet, probably not. But with this new book, written by Bob Skilnik, at least you can find beers that will help you control weight gain.

The Liquid Diet

An academic medical center has created a medically supervised Liquid Diet. The diet is designed specifically for people who wish to lose a lot of weight without surgery.

Liquid diets have long been popular diets, but have never been considered safe.

The medically supervised diet contains about 800 calories per day — the equivalent of about four slices of pizza — and consists of a specially designed protein powder that dissolves in water, milk, tea, yogurt and similar products. No other food is consumed initially, although after a certain period some vegetables and other foods can be added.

The program is for those wishing to quickly lose between 10 to 100 lbs.

Again, this is a supervised program. Talk to a Doctor before starting any diet.

The Egg Diet

Health experts have long debated the affect eggs have on a person's cholesterol level. Many popular diets suggest decreasing your egg intake.

But now, some scientists are recommending that an egg a day does the body good. And that, in fact, most people can eat as many eggs as they so desire.

While many doctors still suggest consumers balance their consumption of eggs with healthy foods and exercise, this news will come as great relief to egg lovers.

Currently one of the most popular diets on the Web, the Skinny Bitch Diet was created by authors Rory Freeman and Kim Barouin who wrote a series of books which offered in-your-face advice on dieting such as:

"Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin."

What does the Skinny Bitch Diet consist of, here are a couple instructions:

Stock up on soy instead of your usual dairy products. The Skinny Bitch Diet isn't just vegetarian--it's vegan. Dairy products are banned for the same reason as meats are.

And

Live on fruits, vegetables, soy, nuts, water, green tea and organic red wine. Treats made from tofu and other ingredients on the Skinny Bitch Diet are OK, but everything else is a slip up.
